A plain-English look at how activATAR handles student and school information.
Looking after the information students and schools give us matters to us, and we've tried to make our approach easy to understand rather than burying it in legal text. These pages explain what we hold, where it lives, who we work with, and how we keep it safe.
The short version: we never sell personal information, we gather only what the platform genuinely needs, and schools stay in charge of their students' data. If you're reviewing activATAR for your school, most of what you'll want is right here, and we're glad to provide more.
What we stand by
A student's name, school email, year level, and their learning activity. We don't ask for more.
Core records sit in Sydney. We're happy to share the full list of services we rely on.
For school accounts, the school owns the relationship with its students' data. We simply process it on the school's behalf.
Students, parents and teachers should be able to understand our practices without a law degree.
The rules we follow
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We're also working through the Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S) assessment and can share our progress and documentation with schools on request.
